I've been looking for a hall table forever and recently while cleaning out the shed I came across this old table that I purchased secondhand a few years back. I used it briefly as a desk and then it made its way outside to my back porch to serve as a bar table for a fourth of July picnic.
Unfortunately it never made its way back in and after some time in the
elements, it started to come apart at the joints. I decided to save it just in case, put it in the shed and
forgot about it.
That is until I needed to add a little light to a dark hallway... That's
when this sad, old, beat up table with it's legs falling off and water
swollen joints came to mind...
Saw off an end, tighten up the legs with
some fresh screws, secure with two L brackets and I became the proud owner of one rough-hewn hall table.
Last night, after spray painting this clam basket picked up locally at a yard sale with a few coats of golden rod gloss, I spur the moment decided to add a quick monogram to the table. Since it's located in the hallway out side of my little girl's room, this is what I came up with.
I still need to staple up that cord, but we've now got light, a place to rest a glass of water, and a little life and color in this corner.
For just five minutes of my time and no money, I couldn't ask for more.
